An open-source coding agent for your terminal. Ask questions, edit files, and run commands with your choice of AI provider.

Early development (v0.x). Breaking changes may occur.

Install

Requires Node.js 24 or later.

npm install -g novacode

Get started

Launch NovaCode in your project directory:

nova

On first launch, choose a provider, enter your API key, and select a model. Then describe what you want to build or fix.

Use /help inside NovaCode for commands, or nova --help for CLI options.

Supported providers

OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, DeepSeek, and GLM (Z.AI).
