We’re working toward SOC 2, an outside audit of our security. The audit isn’t finished yet.

• We store a hash, not your keyEtchv keeps only a SHA-256 hash of each API key. Keys are scoped and expire.
• Encrypted processingFiles are encrypted while they are processed. Processing copies are deleted after seven days.
• You keep the namesEtchv doesn’t need names or emails. Who received each copy stays in your own records.

What is an invisible watermark?

A watermark hidden in the pixels of an image, PDF page or video frame, with no visible logo. When you send Etchv a file to check, it looks for that watermark.

Can I trace an image to a recipient?

Give each delivery its own watermark and save it with the recipient’s record. A detected watermark links to that delivery. It doesn’t prove who shared the file.

Does the watermark survive edits?

It depends on the image and the edit. Test the compression, resizing and cropping your files go through. Detection after an edit isn’t guaranteed.

Can Etchv detect AI-generated images?

No. Etchv only detects its own watermarks. If you make AI images, watermark them as they’re created and link each watermark to your own records.

Which files are supported?

Images, PDFs and supported H.264 MP4 and MOV videos. The docs list the limits for each. Etchv doesn’t watermark audio.
