The count covers only official API users and rose from a 7-day average of 271K on September 30, just after a desktop version shipped.
Those users burn about 92T tokens a day, roughly 60M each, an early public sign that hours-long agent runs consume far more compute than chatbots.
Harness treats everything as a plugin, so even built-in features can be replaced, and users have built about 35,000 so far.
DeepSeek says 60% of users have made at least one, though it concedes their quality varies widely.
Next comes an official plugin marketplace plus a creator program offering token grants, technical help and promotion, with no further details yet.
If those tools keep users loyal, DeepSeek gains a way to compete with OpenAI and Anthropic on ecosystem breadth as well as model price.
