FAQ
Questions
How is it different from Grammarly?
Same as-you-type checks in every app. WriteNative is for people whose first language isn't English: fixes explained in your language, messages explained and answered in one flow, start in your language when stuck, or pay once and run it on your Mac.
Is the free plan enough? What counts?
For occasional English, yes. Spelling needs no account. Free account: 50 grammar checks/day (1 per paragraph) and 20 AI actions (rewrite, tone, translate, Explain, reply, Draft: 1 each). Look up never counted. Resets midnight UTC.
Can't I just paste it into ChatGPT?
You can — but it's switch, copy, paste, paste back every time, and it often stops sounding like you. WriteNative fixes only what needs fixing, where you type, and tells you why.
Is it a translator?
No. It makes your own English correct and natural, and tells you why in your language. When stuck, you can start in your language.
Is it safe for work email and code?
Cloud checks are discarded afterwards, never stored or used for training. On-device + Lock to this Mac: nothing is sent.
Pro or On-device?
Everything unlimited on any number of Macs: Pro, $96/year ($8/mo) or $20/month. Pay once, run on your Mac even offline: On-device, $49 for up to 3 Macs, dictation included.
Is there a free trial? Can I get a refund?
The free account is the trial: no card, 50 grammar checks + 20 AI actions a day. Bought on our website? Write within 14 days for a full refund, no questions asked. App Store purchases follow Apple's terms.
Does dictation translate what I say?
No. It keeps the language you speak and only tidies it. To speak your language and get English, use the Translate tab's mic. Dictation is On-device and Pro.
Which apps does it work in?
Most Mac apps with a text field: Mail, Gmail, Outlook, Slack, Teams, Notion, GitHub, Cursor, VS Code, ChatGPT and more. Terminals and Google Docs are left alone. Requires macOS 14+.

write it, send it.
